CHELSEA announced the sad passing of legendary defender Marvin Hinton at the age of 85.

Hinton died on Tuesday and the Blues issued a touching statement expressing their condolences to his family and friends.

Chelsea announced: “It is with tremendous sadness that Chelsea Football Club announces the passing yesterday [Tuesday] of Marvin Hinton.

“Our thoughts are with Marvin’s family and friends at this difficult time.”

Chelsea fans were left heartbroken by the news as they paid tribute to Hinton.
