THE SCOTTISH SUN 🔵 SPFL clash hit by shock postponement after major GAS LEAK at stadium
TOMORROW’S rescheduled Championship clash between Morton and Raith Rovers has been postponed AGAIN – after Cappielow was hit by a major gas leak.
The game had originally been pushed back 24 hours to give it a chance of being played amid plunging temperatures in the Inverclyde area.
And now the famous old stadium on the banks of the Clyde has been hit by a major gas leak – meaning the two sides will have to try again to find a date on which the game could be played.
A statement issued by Morton hinted that the pitch may not have been playable in any case.
They wrote: « Tomorrow’s William Hill Championship match against Raith Rovers has been postponed following a major gas leak at Cappielow.
« Services are on hand to fix the issue but we have been advised this will not be fixed in time for tomorrow’s match.

« The pitch is also still suffering from the low temperatures this week and would have been against the clock to be fit for tomorrow.
« We understand this is frustrating for supporters and it is very frustrating for the club as well.
« A new date will be announced in due course. »
The wintry weather has decimated the Scottish card – although the top flight was happily untouched.
There’s only one Championship match going ahead today in addition to TWO in League One.
