THE SCOTTISH SUN 🔵 Rangers hero absent from training ‘as he LEAVES MLS side for new club in the UK’

The popular 35-year-old left the Ibrox side last June for Charlotte FC, initially penning a contract through to the end of 2024 – with an option for a further year.

But MLS writer Tom Bogert claimed on the other side of the pond yesterday that he’s poised to return to the UK, to a club in the « lower leagues in England »

He claims he « wasn’t training today » in order to put the finishing touches on the move.

The move comes as a surprise as Arfield has generally cut a contented figure since moving Stateside.

But he’s won plenty of admirers in the English game with previous stints at Burnley, Watford and Huddersfield.
