ENGLAND march into a second successive European Championship final after a last gasp strike from Aston Villa’s Olly Watkins.

Gareth Southgate’s men haven’t impressed so far in this tournament but this was their best performance so far and they’re gathering pace at the right time.

They were slow starters here in Dortmund, trailing early to a fine strike from Xavi Simons.

The little RB Leipzig schemer robbed Declan Rice and fired in a volley which was too hot for Jordan Pickford.

But the goal sparked England into life and with Phil Foden finally bringing his best form they roared back into the game.

They created a host of chances – with the Man City man rattling a post from range and seeing another cleared off the line.

But there was a huge slice of luck about the goal which gave them a platform to get into this match.

After a VAR review, Denzel Dumfries was controversially adjudged to have fouled Harry Kane when the Bayern man got his shot off from inside the box.

It was harsh but Kane kept his nerve to tuck the penalty away.

The second half was a nervy affair with the Dutch coming back into it but bringing on Ollie Watkins for Kane in a double change with Cole Palmer seemed like an inspired change and so it proved when he fired in the winner with just seconds remaining.
