TALKSPORT 🔵 Man City star Nunes caught up in nightclub altercation before police intervene
Police were called to an altercation involving Manchester City midfielder Matheus Nunes in a Madrid nightclub last month.
talkSPORT understands the Portugal international was being pestered by a man with a phone at sprawling disco La Riviera on September 8.
Nunes pleaded with the man to stop before knocking the phone from his hand – prompting a phone call to local police.
However, police decided no further action was required after arriving at the scene.
Nunes was enjoying time with friends in Spain after being left out of the Portugal squad for the most recent international break.

The 26-year-old has featured six times for Man City this season, most recently playing the full 90 minutes during the 4-0 win at Slovan Bratislava in the Champions League.
Nunes’ first start of the season came in the recent 2-1 victory over Watford in the Carabao Cup, in which he scored the winner.
The Portuguese midfielder came off the bench for the Premier League champions in their first match after the international break – a 2-1 win over Brentford.
City paid £53million to sign Nunes from Wolves in the summer of 2023 and the midfielder is expected to be a key player this season after teammate Rodri was ruled out for the season through injury.
However, Nunes has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter in Pep Guardiola’s team, featuring mostly as a substitute since his arrival.
Speaking after Nunes scored in the win over Watford, Guardiola admitted the ‘unbelievable’ midfielder still has some adapting to do.
The City boss said: “He has special qualities few players have, he’s unique.
“In the space, transitions, he is unbelievable. I’m really pleased for him and the goal.
“He will score more. Still he has things to read and understand, it’s not easy sometimes in players to adapt.
“I’m really pleased for him, because he’s a lovely guy and lovely guys always deserves good things.”
