GOODISON NEWS 🔵 Yannick Bolasie reacts to Moyes return at Everton

Yannick Bolasie left a short message on social media after Everton confirmed the return of David Moyes as their new manager.

After the Toffees posted on Instagram [11 January] to confirm Moyes’ re-appointment as manager 12 years on from his 2013 departure, Bolasie was one of several former Toffees players to give their views in response.

Bolasie, whose time at Goodison Park between 2016 and 2021 came long after Moyes’ first spell, posted emojis to show two hands of praise, as well as a blue love heart, with Victor Anichebe also commenting.

David Moyes appointment bringing the warmth back to Everton

With so many of his former players from times gone by clearly delighted with the return of Moyes to Merseyside on Saturday (11 January), it’s no surprise to see why Toffees fans see this as a popular appointment.

Many will be reminded by the likes of Steven Pienaar that Goodison used to be a much happier place than it is at present, with the club competing at the right end of the Premier League table.

Moyes is back with the sole goal of ensuring the Toffees remain a Premier League club come season’s end – which coincides to their game-changing relocation from Goodison to Bramley-Moore Dock.

Everton Instagram post

Bolasie may have missed the boat when it comes to being managed by Moyes in royal blue, but he’s clearly well aware of the fondness Evertonians have towards the 61-year-old based on his first spell.

With two of the Scot’s stalwarts, Seamus Coleman and Leighton Baines, preceding him in the dugout after Sean Dyche’s departure, his return – 12 years in the making – is giving fans one hell of a throwback.
