GOODISON NEWS 🔵 Everton takeover could move quickly after Farhad Moshiri decision

Farhad Moshiri deciding on his preferred bidder could see the rest of the Everton takeover process “move quickly”, according to Paul Brown.

The journalist posted on his X account with an update that stated that several of the more “credible” bids to buy the club are unlikely to fail the Premier League’s owners and directors conditions, unlike 777 Partners.

Brown implied that once Toffees owner Moshiri has selected a bid that best suits his conditions, that bid will not run into the same trouble that 777 did in their attempts to be given the green light.

Since 777’s share purchase agreement with Moshiri expired on May 31, a number of potential buyers have come forward with proposals to purchase the Iranian’s 94.1 per cent stake in the club [Tariq Panja].

Everton takeover talks intensifying

777 Partners’ failure to complete their long-winded takeover of Everton resulted in a sigh of relief from the club’s fanbase, after almost nine months of talks effectively came to nothing.

Despite putting over £200million into the club during that period, 777 were unable to satisfy the Premier League’s conditions to complete a takeover, and despite Moshiri stating that he wants to continue their partnership, the Miami-based firm appear to be out of the running [Daily Mirror].

Another US-based bid towards the back of the queue is that of Crystal Palace co-owner John Textor, who confirmed to Goodison News that he is not and was not ever a front-runner to buy the Toffees.

Dan Friedkin, who already owns Serie A side Roma, has also expressed his interest in entering talks, while fan duo George Bell and Andy Downing reportedly have a financial package that would meet Premier League standards [Angelo Mangiante].

Crucially for the latter, Bell and Downing already have an established relationship with Moshiri, and as Brown suggests, that could play a crucial factor in being selected by the Iranian to complete a quick takeover of their beloved club [Daily Mail].
