GOODISON NEWS 🔵 Everton make Sean Dyche sack decision amid David Moyes update

David Moyes would come under consideration for a return as Everton manager if Sean Dyche is sacked, TBR Football reports.

According to the outlet’s website on 5 September the Scot, who is available after leaving West Ham in the summer, is expected to be part of the conversation along with ex-Chelsea and Brighton boss Graham Potter if a change is made.

Alarm bells are said to be ringing at Goodison Park after the bad start to the season and, regardless of takeover talks between Farhad Moshiri and John Textor, the current hierarchy are extremely worried about the situation.

They have reportedly given Dyche the “dreaded” vote of confidence and will not sack him immediately but intermediaries are now working on possible replacements.

Everton return possible after West Ham exit for David Moyes

Moyes is probably a more realistic option than Potter, given the latter has rejected every offer that has come his way for nearly 18 months since leaving Stamford Bridge and Everton are anything but a simple job right now.

The former Toffees boss still has his supporters on Merseyside despite his defection to Manchester United back in 2013, and the fact that he is fairly similar to Dyche in terms of the issues many fans have with the current boss.

Vitor Pereira has also emerged to talk up his aims to manage in the Premier League after twice coming close to the Everton job [GiveMeSport, 5 September].

However it would be a wild move for Moshiri to respond to the anger that has come from the nightmare 3-2 defeat by Crystal Palace last weekend [Michael Ball, 2 September] and appoint a manager who fans protested against the last time he tried to bring him in.

Sean Dyche is struggling already at Everton this season.

Despite being tipped to go before the end of the international break [ESPN, 2 September] it looks like Dyche will be given time to turn this season around like he did the previous one.

The former Burnley boss has proven himself to be a streaky manager on Merseyside and he could badly do with a run of results on his return to Premier League action.

Were it not for the break he might have been able to get a quick win and dampen sack talk, especially since the first 80-plus minutes against Palace were a big improvement.

But Dyche couldn’t have chosen a worse time to oversee a collapse for the ages and then make some of his most ill-advised comments about his own role in it afterwards, without the chance to make amends now until the trip to Aston Villa on 14 September.

In other Everton news, the Toffees rejected the chance to sign a ÂŁ38million defender without paying a huge price before the transfer deadline.
