GOODISON NEWS 🔵 Club obsessed with Everton star, transfer risk taken – report

Torino risk delaying their business in the winter transfer window amid obsession with Everton star Beto, according to Tuttosport.

The news outlet reports (11 January) that the Serie A outfit have taken several steps to sign the Guinean striker, but the Toffees aren’t focused on the deal at the moment.

Armando Broja suffered an injury on Thursday (9 January) when the Blues beat Peterborough 2-0 in the FA Cup and it remains to be seen how long the Albanian forward will be out.

The Chelsea loanee’s situation risks slowing down Beto’s departure, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin also on the sidelines right now.

David Moyes needs Beto in Everton squad

David Moyes has returned to the Goodison dugout after Sean Dyche was sacked by The Friedkin Group (TFG).

The new owners decided to relieve the English manager of his duties just before the Posh made their trip to Merseyside as Leighton Baines and Seamus Coleman took interim charge.

Beto was tasked with leading the line against Darren Ferguson’s team and found the back of the net just before the break to give the Toffees the lead.

Everton have much more serious things to focus on, with the team languishing around the relegation zone.

Moyes will have a difficult challenge on his hands to help the Blues survive the drop, considering the lack of goalscoring options at his disposal.

The Merseysiders have been woeful in front of goal in the Premier League this season, with Calvert-Lewin failing to score consistently.

Beto has been underwhelming since his move from Udinese in the summer of 2023, and the Friedkins will likely need to add reinforcements up front in the coming weeks.

TFG also can’t sell the Guinean forward to maintain squad depth, but it remains to be seen whether Torino can convince the Americans to part ways with him before the 3 February deadline.

In other Everton news, a transfer twist has emerged regarding Ernest Nuamah after Moyes’ appointment.
