DAILY RECORD 🔵 Ally McCoist spots ‘unbelievable’ unseen Jose Mourinho moment with Rangers fans at final whistle

The Special One watched Fenerbahce crash out of the Europa League on penalties at Ibrox
Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce were sent crashing out of the Europa League as Rangers booked their place in the quarter-finals.
But the Special One was involved in an « unbelievable » moment with the home crowd as Gers fans celebrated yet another memorable Thursday night. After being outsmarted by rookie boss Barry Ferguson in Istanbul last week, Mourinho came close to masterminding a remarkable second-leg comeback as the Turkish giants took Gers to penalties.
However, the Portuguese great – who has lifted two Champions Leagues, plus Europa League and Conference League titles during his incredible managerial career – watched his side miss THREE spotkicks as the Light Blues prevailed.
Ibrox was rocking as James Tavernier and co. lapped up the celebrations with the jubilant home crowd. But as Mourinho saluted his own army of Fenerbahce supporters in the Broomloan corner, McCoist spotted a heartwarming moment from the commentary booth.
As Rangers partied in front of their fans, McCoist said: « I’m just going to say something and what I saw was unbelievable. Mourinho took his players, quite rightly, over to the corner to thank the travelling Fenerbahce fans.
« On his way over, he was getting a wonderful, wonderful reception from the main stand and the enclosures at Ibrox which he greatly appreciated and gave them a wave as a thank you as well. A lovely gesture. »
